With September as National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and in honor of the late Mary Gosek, the SUNY Oswego SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) campaign will continue the Totally Teal campaign for fundraising and awareness.

A gathering and walk of remembrance will take place at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19. For this popular annual event, participants are asked to wear teal and gather in front of Culkin Hall for a photo and a walk around the lagoon. Refreshments will be available after the walk.

A fundraiser for Peaceful Remedies will feature a teal apparel sale, with an order deadline of Tuesday, Sept. 5. Items available for purchase include:

  • Teal t-shirt for $15 ($18 for sizes 2XL or larger)
  • White hoodie (unisex sizing) $20 ($22 for 2XL)

All apparel will have a logo on the left side of the chest. Hoodies will also have a logo on the back and "SUNY Oswego" down the sleeve. Orders are available via this Google Form, then a safe and secure CashNet link will be sent to you to make payment.

Apparel orders received and paid for by Sept. 5 can be picked up on Sept. 18.

In addition, every Tuesday during September, SUNY Oswego will continue the campaign to bring awareness to ovarian cancer symptoms and the disease via Wear Teal on Tuesdays.

Mary Gosek was a 30-year SUNY Oswego employee who helped lead the Totally Teal efforts to raise awareness and funds for the cause. Peaceful Remedies is a local organization founded by Gosek which aims to holistically improve the healing experiences of those with life-altering illness.
