The campus State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) will sponsor multiple events for the month of October, in the interest of the campus and community.

SEFA will promote such activities as the Pink the Rink women’s hockey game, Pink Day and their annual bake sale.

The Pink the Rink women’s hockey game vs. the London Devilettes will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 15, in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall as a way to promote breast cancer awareness through athletics.

Pink Day will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, in the Marano Campus Center food and activities court as another way to make people more aware of breast cancer awareness. Watch for more details in a future Oswego Today.

Donations made from these events through SEFA will benefit Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Cancer Services.

Online donations via the secure CashNet storefront also will support the cause.

The annual SEFA bake sale will happen on the two last Mondays of the month. The first sale will be held on Monday, Oct. 24, in Shineman Center and Tyler Hall, from noon to 2 p.m. The second sale will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, in Culkin Hall and Marano Campus Center.

Everyone is welcome to bake items for the chance to become known as the SUNY Oswego champion baker – email sefa@oswego.edu if interested. Proceeds from this event will benefit the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Visit the SEFA website to learn more about SEFA and how it supports community causes.
