Later this month begins the 20th annual State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) United Way Bake Off, and organizers invite faculty and staff members to consider baking a dessert to help raise money for this popular and tasty campaign.
In addition to traditional entries, SEFA encourages bakers to consider making special items like those that are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and sugar-free to expand the number of tasters who can enjoy this fundraiser.
The list below provides days and times for when representatives of buildings on campus will participate. To enter, a baker would e-mail the contact person for their building's bake-off and let them know the name of the dessert they will submit.
Due to Department of Health rules and regulations, desserts need to be submitted in taste-size portions wrapped in plastic or in cupcake paper cups. Because of the nature of the contest, desserts requiring refrigeration will not be allowed. The bake-off contact person can let participants know when and where to drop off their dessert prior to the event. Prizes will celebrate the winner of each bake-off, as well as a separate prize for a new special baking catergory.
The campus community is invited to attend any or all four bake-offs to sample the various clever and tasty creations. Items are sold two for $1.
