The State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) committee seeks groups in departments, offices or floors to let their creativity flourish while developing themed baskets for the hybrid Baskets of Caring fundraiser.

Traditionally, employees within a unit or area come together to come up with a theme and fill baskets with fun items related to that theme. For this popular annual United Way of Greater Oswego County fundraiser, organizers ask that members of the campus community submit their basket theme, photo and additional information by Nov. 5 to be included in the online sales portion of the fundraiser.

Baskets can be dropped off to Judy Roik in Campus Life (135 Campus Center) on Nov. 15 and 16; submitters should include the department(s) and/or office(s) who created the basket, the value of the basket and the contents of the basket in some kind of list form to make members of the campus community interested in taking a chance on it.

People can vote for $1 each on baskets they would like a chance to win. Those who make the basket with the most votes earn bragging rights and their accomplishment preserved on a plaque.

This year's event will take place Nov. 8 to 15 for online ticket sales and in person in Marano Campus Center on Nov. 17 and 18 for live basket viewing and in-person ticket sales. The live drawing of winning tickets will take place at 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at the basket-selling location in Marano.
