This November, the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign will partner with University Police Lt. Kevin Ermann to raise money for the Blessings in a Backpack Oswego Chapter.

Blessings in a Backpack is a national organization that helps feed hungry students on weekends and holidays throughout the school year.

The number of children relying on this service locally has grown from 50 in 2013 to around 250 in 2016, and has since doubled as the cost of food has also risen significantly, organizers said.

The campaign asks members of the campus community to consider donating to this organization via this fundraiser payment link. Additionally, Ermann and student volunteers will table in the Marano Campus Center during various times of the month, including 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 6, 13, 14, 19 and 20.

Those donating will have the opportunity to win raffled gift cards and other prizes donated by local businesses.
