The greenhouse is home to over 200 plant species from throughout the world. Species that are noteworthy for ecological, evolutionary, economic,or historic reasons can be seen. Some highlights include chocolate, orchids (including vanilla), pitcher plants, cacti and a baobob tree among many others.

The greenhouse also has an Instagram account (suny.oswego.greenhouse) that provides updates on what is in flower and other happenings on the roof of the Shineman Center.

To visit the Shineman Center greenhouse, take the elevator on the northwest side of the building (closest to Lake Ontario) to the roof level. The greenhouse will be on your left as you exit the elevator. The northwest elevator is the only elevator access to the greenhouse.
