The Oswego Alumni Virtual Concert Series will start this week with the first concert featuring singer/songwriter and 2017 graduate Cam Caruso.

Caruso will perform on Facebook Live from the Oswego Alumni Facebook page from 8 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24.

Caruso's EP "Up Above & Down Below" won a 2020 Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) in the Singer/Songwriter category.

Caruso is a singer, songwriter, audio engineer and producer from Oswego. He discovered his love for music when he was 13 years old when he taught himself how to play guitar over summer vacation.

During his time at Oswego, Caruso performed in choirs around the United States and discovered a new-found love for audio recording. His final project as an Oswego student was a full-length album which he composed, engineered, produced and performed. His debut album "On the Other Side" was later nominated for a 2018 SAMMY.

While performing regularly at establishments across Central New York, Caruso has learned over 300 cover songs from pop, rock, folk, jazz and country from several decades. He has opened for nationally touring acts such as The End of America and Jacob Johnson. In early 2020, Caruso performed with renowned singer/songwriter, Chris Trapper, who is known for songs in feature films such as "August Rush."

Caruso is currently learning/writing more songs, along with working on his engineering/producing skills through Berklee Online’s master’s program in music production.
