Additional Navigation

Over the winter break, SUNY Oswego launched a refreshed homepage and website template, aiming to help bring new members to the Oswego family while servicing the existing campus community.

The new template design was the result of months of user research, peer analysis and testing. This template features a new navigation to support the prospective student experience by helping them explore topics important to their journey while showcasing all that SUNY Oswego has to offer.

The new navigation also includes a redesign of the quick links menu for current students, faculty and staff. The quick links menu contains all of the same items that the previous template had but collects them into a common area. This new quick links menu will evolve over time and will eventually allow users to authenticate to the site via single sign on and quickly access any systems that use the same authentication method, including Blackboard, myOswego and others.

The new quick links menu is optimized for mobile and helps users to easily access:

The new template and backend content management system (CMS) via Drupal also improve user privacy protections by allowing users to opt out of any tracking.

The new template also improves the site's overall accessibility while providing more consistent and visually engaging components.

While the old template is still active on multiple sites, it will gradually be phased out as those sites are upgraded to the new CMS.
