Back in March, Campus Technology Services (CTS) announced the campus will be adding a second layer of authentication to certain campus services including Blackboard, Zoom, Office 365, Adobe, Library databases, Administrative Banner, and Spectrum U. This second layer of authentication is called multi-factor authentication (MFA) and requires the use of your normal password along with a code sent to an app or phone.

As of 8 a.m. today (April 18), MFA is now mandatory for all non-residential students, the last cohort required to complete this process. Any non-residential student that did not opt-in will now be prompted to do so the next time they login to one of the above services.

The non-residential students were the last group to transition to MFA. While CTS will continue to assist people who have not opted-in prior to the mandatory transition dates, they now consider this project complete. CTS thanks everyone who provided feedback to improve the service as additional groups transitioned. It was very much appreciated.

In the coming months, CTS will continue to transition more services to MFA to further protect campus data and services. No additional action will be needed on your part. CTS will announce the additional services that transition to MFA in advance.

If you experience any difficulties with MFA, please contact the CTS Help Desk.
