UPDATE: We are awaiting results of water testing and expect to have word about the status of the water in the buildings noted. When we have those results, we will send a message to the campus community.
Due to a water main break in West campus, we have been advised that there is a chance that the water in affected buildings could become contaminated during reconnection.
The residence halls on West campus – Cayuga, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca halls, as well as The Village – are affected, as are Pathfinder Dining Hall, the Glimmerglass Fitness Center and University Police headquarters. Pathfinder will remain open for meals although water will be unavailable at that location.
Out of an abundance of caution, until we receive confirmation that the water is safe to ingest, please:
- Do not ingest water. Drinking water or using it to brush your teeth is a risk.
- Bathing, showering and hand washing are safe.
We understand that this is an inconvenience but want you to take those steps should the water testing show contamination. We will keep you updated on this situation as we learn more.
