Style is in the forecast when the Fashion at Oswego student organization presents its “Winter Wonderland Fashion Show” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19,  in the Sheldon Hall ballroom.

“It’s all about spreading our passion for fashion,” the organization’s fashion events correspondent Rickey Strachan explained.

The Fashion at Oswego organization got its start as a small newsletter intended to highlight the fashion at Oswego, but has evolved to additionally enhance fashion on campus, Strachan said.

The idea to have a fashion show was hatched at one of the organization’s first eboard meetings, Strachan noted, as they wanted to have a show “geared toward the times we are in now.”

As the organization is focused on fashion here at Oswego, the show will feature student designers, with brands by Tyshwan Spann and Amadi Z. Morton.

Spann’s brand is called “Don’t focus on that,” created as a way to address the lack of originality currently in fashion. Morton’s line is called “Hey AzK” and is Morton’s first step into the world of fashion.

While it’s too soon to tell if this will be a recurring annual event, the organization is optimistic about its impact.

It's kind of our revitalizing event in a way to bring people back to us and remind them about the (organization), so it as a theme may not be but we will probably have annual events around this time,” Strachan said.

Tickets to the Winter Wonderland show cost $5 for students; $7 for faculty, staff and the general public, available via tickets.oswego.edu.
