The Women In Entertainment student organization will host five short films from different genres made by members this semester at a special screening and award event starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Marano Campus Center auditorium (room 132).
The red carpet event will include an opportunity for audience members to cast a vote for their favorite film, which will go toward the People's Choice Award.
This semester the club created teams with each member having a role(s) of their choice to create a short film that will be shown in a festival on Dec. 4. The films will be judged by three female faculty members: Amy Shore, Jennifer Knapp and Soma Frazier.
The purpose of Women In Entertainment is to empower SUNY Oswego female students who are interested in working in the entertainment business -- whether in scripted content for film and television, editing reality TV, marketing podcasts, directing documentaries and more -- in an organization that will nurture, guide and mentor them in a safe space.
