Dr. Michael Murphy will present "Hey, I Like That: Writing from Models" at 3 p.m. Friday, March 26, in the next installment of the Write Ways Series.

Students and writers are often told to “be original,” to “write what you know,” and especially to “write in your own voice.” But people learn much about how to write from models — pieces of writing they find compelling. This workshop will explore how to find and use rhetorical models in your writing.

For the Spring 2021 semester, all Write Ways Series workshops will run 3 to 4 p.m. as virtual events via this Zoom link.

All workshops are open to students, faculty and staff, and unfold as interactive sessions to improve writing skills -- from comma usage to crafting effective emails to planning your essay and more. No registration is required.

Contact Steven Smith (steven.smith@oswego.edu) or Stephanie Pritchard (stephanie.pritchard@oswego.edu) if you have questions.

The Write Ways Series is sponsored by the Office of Learning Services Writing Center and the Writing Fellows Program.
