There's still time to walk, run or roll in support of Yards for Yeardley, the campus-community event to remember victims of dating and domestic violence that also works to prevent future acts.

What has become a virtual month-long event through April, spanning Sexual Assault Awareness Month, continues through Monday, May 3, the 11th anniversary of the death of Yeardley Love. Love was a senior in college when she was killed by her ex-boyfriend three weeks before graduation, and the event partners with the One Love Foundation founded in her honor.

Members of the campus community can participate by walking, running, rolling (skateboard, wheelchair, rollerskates/blades, bike) or any other physical activity where one can count miles, steps or yards. As of April 29, people (and their pets) had logged more than 8 million yards and counting.

Participants can log yards online through 2:30 p.m. on May 3.

Participants are encouraged to take videos and pictures wearing clothing representing any campus group they are affiliated with, and send them to lisa.evaneski@oswego.edu for potential promotional and social media use.
