The 2019 SUNY Oswego President’s Award for Teaching Excellence will honor Jessica Reeher, chair of the communication studies department, who earned strong support from current and former students remarking on the lasting impact she has had on them as a teacher, advisor and role model.

Campus Compact recently named Ariel Gutman-Gates, a SUNY Oswego junior psychology major, one of only 262 Newman Civic Fellows nationwide for 2019-20, recognizing his passion and hard work in growing the college's program for students who struggle with food insecurity.

A closet-cleaning chore spawned an ambitious and growing effort to lend prom dresses to girls who couldn't otherwise afford them, leading to a top award from Harlem Fashion Week for the founding sisters, both seniors at SUNY Oswego.
