Today (Oct. 1), the non-partisan civic engagement initiative Vote Oswego will sponsor a series of events for Vote Oswego Day.
Events will include a variety of efforts supporting students as they register to vote and request absentee ballots, trivia games related to the voting process and educational sessions about what to expect when it comes time to fill out an absentee ballot or go to the polls.
- 4:30 pm: Vote Oswego Day: Couch Party
These efforts support individuals through the process of texting reminders to their own friends and tips about preparing for the upcoming election. - 5:30 pm: Vote Oswego Day: Jeopardy
For this rousing game of politics-themed Jeopardy, the winner will receive a swag bag from Vote Oswego. - 6:15 pm: Vote Oswego Day: Kahoot Voting Process
Learn more about your options for registering to vote, determining if you need to request an absentee ballot and what will happen when you go to vote via this engaging game. - 7 pm: Vote Oswego Day: Announcing the Battle of the Ballot Winner
Through Battle of the Ballot, student groups have been competing to see which group can help the most students prepare for to vote by visiting Vote Oswego's TurboVote site. This event will announcer the winner.
Vote Oswego is a project to help members of the Oswego community make an impact in all elections by stressing the importance of political participation no matter an individual's political affiliation; working to make registration fun, easy and secure; providing personalized support; and encouraging eligible voters to submit absentee ballots or go to the pollls.
