Starting on Oct. 23 at 7:15 a.m., Campus Technology Services will be configuring an idle timeout for Advanced Technology Classroom (ATC) computers and CTS-managed computer lab machines. This change will help:

  • Improve security for accounts in which the owner forgot to log themselves out
  • improve sustainability by powering off non-instructional computers

Specifically, for computers in the ATCs, a person will be logged out after 45 minutes of inactivity.  The computer will remain powered on for the next faculty member to use.

For computers in CTS managed labs, a person will be logged out and the computer will power off after 45 minutes of inactivity.
