The college’s Advisement Center, a key resource for students to achieve academic success, has a new location and expanded offerings for the fall semester and beyond.
The center’s new permanent home is 151 Marano Campus Center, the former Extended Learning suite, where the office will help students transition academically from high school and other institutions with services that include academic advising, connections to campus resources and academic success workshops.
This semester the center will offer Drop-in Advising weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are available for any student who has a professional advisor housed in the Advisement Center, but all students are welcome to drop-in for general advisement support.
Advisement Guides, modeled after Compass Navigators, are available during drop-in hours at the Advisement Center. These guides can assist students with learning basic technology such as reviewing DegreeWorks, using registration and planning modules or requesting a major/minor change.
The new location comes after the Advisement Center’s previous stint in Hewitt Hall, now under renovations to become a top-flight home for broadcasting, graphic design and cinema and screen studies.
