Campus Technology Services (CTS) provided a start of the fall semester update which stated Office 365 would be installed on computer lab and classroom podium computers effective Monday, Aug. 30. Unfortunately, a technical issue prevented the installation from moving forward. That issue has now been resolved and CTS will update the labs over this coming weekend, Sept. 4 and 5.

As a reminder, the Office applications installed will be the desktop client versions of Office 365, not the web-based versions. A change you will see when saving your files includes the ability to select Microsoft’s cloud storage option, called One Drive. To save the files locally to your computer, please make sure to click the “Save As” option when first saving a file. You’ll then see your computer listed as an option.

For the Mac computer labs, an additional login will be required to access the software. The login is your full SUNY Oswego email address and password.

All new computers will have the software installed by default. CTS will work on an upgrade plan for the rest of campus in the near future.
