The popular Kids Tech program returns in October for fall 2021 with registration for STEM 4 Kids and Young Inventors currently open for children from kindergarden through sixth grade.

SUNY Oswego technology education majors carry on the tradition of these award-winning, hands-on STEM programs and this semester, with organizers planning to return to on-campus delivery after maintaining the program virtually.

STEM 4 Kids (grades K-3) will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in October (Oct. 5, 12,19 and 26).

Young Inventors (grades 4-6) will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. four Wednesdays in October (Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27).

Each classroom will be limited to 14 children.

Children will learn 21st-century communication and problem solving skills through the sessions.

National Grid will support program enhancements that allow children to take home some of the activities to continue learning after the four weeks.

While the program is currently planned for campus, if organizers need to shift to remote instruction, the program will take a one-week break to allow time to ship the STEM activities to participants' homes to continue with the remaining sessions.

The cost for registration is $30 per child, which will need to be mailed in after registering online. But if making payment is difficult, families can email Mark Springston (mark.springston@oswego.edu) or Karin Dykeman (karin.dykeman@oswego.edu) to inquire about scholarships.

COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place, and need to be practiced and agreed to by all participants and adults as a part of registering.

The Kids Tech program is celebrating its 10th year, and with program enhancements made possible by National Grid, organizers say this is a great time to check out the fun, exciting and engaging learning opportunities.
