Campus Technology Services (CTS) announced earlier this month the campus will add a second layer of authentication to certain campus services including Blackboard, Zoom, Office 365, Adobe, Library databases, Administrative Banner and Spectrum U. This second layer of authentication is called multi-factor authentication (MFA) and requires the use of your normal password along with a code sent to an app or phone.

There have already been 460 users who have opted in to MFA. The campus community can still opt-in before the mandatory dates below. Follow this link to get started. Once opted-in, MFA will be available for you to use after 4:30 p.m. that same day excluding weekends. If you have feedback related to your experience configuring or using MFA, please let CTS know.  The feedback will be used to help improve the roll-out to the entire campus.

It is highly recommended to opt-in before the mandatory transition dates below. If you do not, you will be prompted to do so once you access one of the above services. This could happen at an inconvenient time. Please allow 5 to 10 minutes to configure MFA.

  • April 4, 8 a.m.: Employees
  • April 11, 8 a.m.: Residential students
  • April 18, 8 a.m.: Non-residential students

Please note that accessing the above services on classroom podium computers will be exempt from MFA for the remainder of the spring semester while the campus transitions.  Otherwise, MFA will be required whether on-campus or off-campus no matter what computer you use.
