As the month of June progresses, SUNY Oswego proudly acknowledges the celebration of Juneteenth -- a national holiday to be observed on June 20, 2022. Juneteenth recognizes June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved people in the Confederacy were notified of their freedom following the Civil War.
The James A. Triandiflou '88 Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformative Practice invites you to celebrate this important day by learning more about what Juneteenth represents with the resources provided below. Check out the @ozinstitute social media channel in the coming days to learn more. Also, be sure to check out what is happening around New York state in commemoration of the Juneteenth holiday.
