Students Helping Oz Peers (SHOP) seeks support from the campus community to continue to provide for those in need among the SUNY Oswego family.

Due to high demand, SHOP currently could use more supplies for their pantry. These items include but are not limited to cereal, milk (non refrigerated until opened), pasta, pasta sauce, canned ravioli, pasta/rice sides, rice, toilet paper, tissues, lotion and shampoo/conditioner.

The college’s State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign is coordinating a collection of these items for two weeks, running through Monday, Oct. 10. Look for collection boxes in Culkin Hall, Marano Campus Center, Lanigan Hall, Shineman Center, Tyler Hall and Rice Creek Field Station.

SHOP invited buildings to have a contest to see who collects the most donations, with a prize to the winner.

Items may also be donated by emailing the organization at shop@oswego.edu, dropping items off at SHOP’s open hours or by making a monetary contribution at this secure CashNet site

SHOP is located in the basement of Penfield Library to the right of the elevator. Any students, faculty or staff that may be in need for these pantry products can gain access to them confidentially and for free by filling out the SHOP pick-up form or, if this is their first time, a new user form. These orders will be filled within 48 hours and placed at the Online Orders table in the front of SHOP.

The hours for SHOP are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 7 p.m.; Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. and by appointment.

Visit the SHOP website to learn more about this project and how it supports community needs.
