Deadlines and events are coming soon in a series of activities presented by SUNY Oswego Campus Recreation. 

The campus community is invited to a free Splash-in Movie showing of "Finding Nemo" in the Lee Hall pool from 8 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29. Pizza, popcorn and refreshments will be provided, and no pre-registration is required.

The next ESports tournament will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1, starting at 2 p.m, featuring NBA 2K23. Registration deadline is midnight on Thursday, Sept. 29. 

Participants will battle it out in either a single- or double-elimination bracket until a champion is crowned. Standard rules provided by 2K for online play are to be followed.

Intramural sports deadlines

The deadline to sign up for intramural sports is Tuesday, Oct. 4. Those interested in forming teams can grab their friends and head to IMLeagues to sign up -- or they will have the opportunity to join existing teams. Each sport has various league options: competitive, recreational, co-rec, men's and women's.

Sign up on IMLeagues by Tuesday, Oct. 4, for:  

The Captains and Free Agent Meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 5. Specific details for this meeting will be sent out to registered participants of these leagues.

When you sign up for an intramural sport, you will automatically be entered to win $25 worth of merchandise from the College Store -- four participants will win. 

New recreation sports are available this season. Come down to Swetman Gym every Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. to play badminton or teqball. Stop by the front desk to take out equipment with your friends. 

This video provides more information on teqball, billed as the fastest growing sport in the world. The Campus Recreation teqball table also can be used with volleyball, ping pong, soccer and more.  

Participants who want to be featured on the Campus Recreation Instagram can snap pictures and videos of themselves playing teqball and DM them to @OswegoCampusRec!
