The State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) will promote breast cancer awareness this month with Pink the Rink and Pink Day, both supporting Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Cancer Services.

The annul Pink the Rink women’s hockey game will see the Lakers host the London Devilettes from Ontario at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at  6 p.m. 

SEFA will sell chances on prize baskets for $1 each or $5 for six tickets outside the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall in Marano Campus Center during the game, which features free admission.  

Pink Day activities will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, from in the Marano Campus Center food and activities court. The event will feature tabling with pink giveaways and information about services and resources available from OCO. 

People will have the chance to  take a chance on a basket for $1 each or $5 for six tickets, and buy  pink disposable masks for $1 each. Additionally, SUNY Oswego pink ribbon winter beanie hats will be for sale for $15 each on first-come, first-served basis.

At 12:30 p.m. a group photo will be taken in the Marano food and activities court followed by a walk through the academic quad. 

Also on Pink Day in the Marano food court, Auxiliary Services will provide a complementary brownie or cookie to anyone wearing pink who purchases an item at Palates, Cutting Board, Laker Express or Crossroads. 

On Oct. 20, faculty and staff support the cause by donating $5 to wear jeans and pink outfits. That donation and general donations can be made via the secure CashNet storefront.
