Thanks to the CenterState CEO Foundation and the Canadian Career Apprenticeship Initiative, SUNY Oswego is teaming up with economic development partners in Central New York on an innovative program to help a select group of new 2023 graduates launch their careers here in Central New York. 

This initiative will connect SUNY Oswego graduates (from the majors below) with regional employers for 12-month, full-time, paid apprenticeship positions. Thanks to the university’s strong partnership with the CenterState Development Foundation, SUNY Oswego arts and humanities graduates will be able to launch and accelerate their careers via this career apprenticeship initiative.

Who is eligible for these apprenticeship positions?

Graduates from the following majors are encouraged to apply:

  • American Studies
  • History
  • Anthropology
  • Human Development
  • Art: (History, Graphic Design, Studio Art, Illustration, Interaction Design)
  • Linguistics
  • Broadcasting and Mass Communication
  • Music

How do SUNY Oswego students apply?  

In your Handshake account, you’ll want to search for the company “CNY Opportunities” – this “employer” will have all the job descriptions available and you can apply directly through Handshake.  Career Services will personally review your uploaded resume and be in touch with any suggestions to improve your resume prior to forwarding your application to the employers.  

When is the deadline?

The deadline to submit your resume is Friday, March 24, 2023.
