SUNY Oswego will conduct a test of its emergency communication systems next week on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at approximately 11:40 a.m. The timing of the alert is intended to fully test the university’s emergency notification systems during an active time of day and at the beginning of the 11:30 a.m. slate of classes in session.

Are you registered and ready to receive this test and all future emergency alerts and weather-related announcements or cancellations at SUNY Oswego? All students, faculty and staff must register or verify their NY-Alert information via the online Emergency Contact Form in order to receive the test alert and all future alerts.

The March 29 test will include text and voice messages sent to your cell phones, as well as alerts to campus phones including classroom and conference phones, teaching station computers, emergency broadcast system outdoor speakers and digital signage across the university. Please be sure to always have your cell phones with you (even if you have them set to vibrate during class instruction) to ensure you receive all emergency text messages.

Thank you for taking the necessary steps to register or verify your account information today so you can be a part of the upcoming test, but more importantly receive future emergency alerts and weather-related communications.

Sincerely,
Wayne A. Westervelt
Chief Communcation Officer
