Summer and fall:

  • GST 101 - Professional Skills Preparatory -- students will examine, define and equip themselves with the critical skills and workplace competencies employers’ desire in successful candidates for employment. For more information contact: sheila.cooley@oswego.edu.
  • GST 102 - Contemporary Social Issues - students participate in a service learning opportunity with a non-profit organization, students focus on defining service, exploring the meaning of community, and civic responsibility.
  • GST 302 - Community Engagement (summer only) - students will learn about human rights; identity, bias and privilege; and ways they can become active citizens within their communities through a combination of service and coursework
  • GST 303 - Leadership In Your Field - students begin to align personal and professional values with career goals while completing a project that fits a need with a selected not-for-profit organization.

Fall and Spring (year-long programs):

  • Focus Forward (GST 311 and 312) is accepting applications for fall 2023 mentors. Focus Forward is a school-based mentoring program that strives to enrich the lives of middle and high school students in our community.   • Oswego Children’s Project (OCP) (GST 306-307) - Students serve as a child associate in this elementary-school based service-learning program that allows students to get experience working with children in the Oswego City School District. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. For more information, please visit oswego.edu/ocp.
