All Laker students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited this Friday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. in 133 Marano Campus Center for a special presentation, "Honoring Our Founder: The Life and Legacy of Edward Austin Sheldon," led by Sheldon scholar, Syracuse City School District high school teacher and SUNY Oswego adjunct professor Don Little '91 M'94 M'15.

The presentation will kick off SUNY Oswego's third annual Founder's Weekend and will be held in celebration of Edward Austin Sheldon's 200th birthday on Oct. 4.

Attendees will learn the history behind the famous Sheldon statue, what he’s actually holding in his hand and its significance. The presentation also will cover why so many other university campuses around the world have statues, buildings and other tributes in honor of the university’s founder. Those attending also will discover the many roles Sheldon had throughout his life beyond SUNY Oswego founder.

No RSVP is required.
