SUNY Oswego employees are offered an opportunity to tour the historic Lighthouse in the Oswego Harbor on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The tour will begin at 2 p.m., and under this special opportunity, SUNY Oswego employees can take a tour of the Oswego Lighthouse for only $20 by registering via the campus box office (regular price is $35). Your time out of the office should be discussed with your supervisor in advance. Employees wishing to attend are responsible for purchasing their tickets.

Attendees can see the community from the view of the lighthouse and -- if they want -- climb to the top in enjoying this unique experience.

Tours are guided by the H. Lee White Marine Museum. For more information, visit the lighthouse tour website.

Please check 10 minutes before your departure time at the Marina Office - 41 Lake Street- to sign the waiver and details. Pontoon boats depart from Wright’s Landing Marina approximately every 30 minutes, shuttling six passengers at a time. Boat shuttles back to shore will take place every 30 minutes through 5:30 p.m., and attendees can stay as long as they want until then. Please note there are no restrooms once you are at the lighthouse, but there are restrooms available at the marina parking lot.

Following the lighthouse tour, participants can make time to enjoy Oswego’s Farmers Market on West First Street, take out a peddle boat/kayak while at Wright’s Marina (315-343-8430 for rental reservations-may be an extra charge) or pursue other opportunities to enjoy the city of Oswego during its vibrant summer.

Secure your departure time/reservation at tickets.oswego.edu on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity has been reached. Special thanks to Kelly Cullinan and the Campus Event and Conference Services Box Office for making this happen.
