Facilities Services is in the process of rolling out centralized waste stations across campus this summer.
The aims of the initiative are to increase waste diversion rates, responsibly manage resources and to support SUNY's phase out of single-use plastics. Pilot efforts in Penfield Library, Rich Hall and Marano Campus Center have been successful.
How will faculty and staff be affected? Facilities Services is removing personal trash and recycling cans from offices. If individuals would like to keep trash/recycling receptacles in their office, they are solely responsible for emptying and cleaning those receptacles.
Facilities Services will put waste stations (one trash container, one recycling container and one recycling guidelines poster) in centralized locations.
