SUNY Oswego’s State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign continues its support for community causes with its popular Baskets of Caring, doing in-person sales to support the United Way of Greater Oswego County this week and a Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday helping Toys for Tots.
Volunteers in the Marano Campus Center's Wiley Alumni Concourse will sell tickets for Baskets of Caring event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 20 and 21. Campus offices and buildings donated more than 15 themes baskets to choose from ranging in values from $60 – over $655 each. Chances are $1 per ticket, and winners will be chosen live on Nov. 21 at 3 p.m. when ticket sales conclude.
SEFA will also have the first of two Teddy Bear Toss hockey games on Nov. 23, during the men’s Laker hockey game, starting at 7 p.m. This event includes the opportunity to throw stuffed animals onto the ice after the first Laker goal, which will be collected to benefit the local Toys for Tots campaign. Fans can bring stuffed animals to throw or can purchase bears to toss during the game. The second Teddy Bear Toss will take place at the women’s hockey game on Friday, Dec. 6, also a 7 p.m. puck drop.
