SUNY Oswego's new professor of theatre, Bella Poynton, is seeing her latest works receiving national recognition, with one opening this week and another selected for an opportunity in California.
Poynton's play "The Mighty Maisie" has its world premiere this Thursday, Feb. 6, at the American Repertory Theater of Western New York in Buffalo. Tickets are available online for those interested.
Meanwhile, her new play, "The Appliance Department," was selected from hundreds of submissions for a prestigious week-long development residency and professional stage reading at New Art City Theatre in Ventura, California. This competitive nationwide search selected only four new works for this honor, further cementing Poynton’s reputation as an innovative voice in contemporary theatre.
