Students -- among them, (from left) Andrew Ampofo, Jared Holley, Sophia Basso and Gregory Moses -- have helped Kate Spector of the mathematics faculty and Office of Learning Services place recycling boxes for used-up writing utensils in classrooms across campus. In most classrooms, these small bins are mounted magnetically on whiteboards.
"You may place used-up markers, pens, and mechanical pencils, of any brand, in these bins for recycling," Spector said. "The writing utensils will then be sent to TerraCycle for recycling, and ultimately, turned into new recycled plastic products."
