The 13th annual Hart Hall Global Awareness Conference, Oct. 11 and 12, is free to attend and open to all.

This year's theme ties in with the Institute for Global Engagement's ongoing Year of Turkey programs.

Friday, Oct. 11, programs will take place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. to include a Middle Eastern music educational program, a performance by SUNY Oswego's Women's Choir, the traditional Cultural Appreciation Dinner and networking. Concluding the evening events will be a concert by the Omar Faruk Tekbilek Trio in Sheldon Hall, free and open to everyone.

Events on Saturday, Oct. 12, will include a variety of cultural and international educational programs and activities from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to include a Turkish lunch in Cooper Dining Hall and concluding with the keynote address by Stephen Kinzer, an award-winning foreign correspondent and former Istanbul correspondent for the New York Times.
