The art department recently announced student recipients of its spring 2020 award recipients.
Because of the impressive collection of student talent, the faculty had a difficult time narrowing it down to this list, said Kelly Roe, chair and associate professor of art. Awards would normally take place at Quest and Honors Convocation.

These awards honor outstanding junior or senior art students who have exhibited an exceptional commitment to the field of art and has demonstrated significant growth as an artist or scholar.

Aulus Saunders Service Award
These awards honor deserving graduate or undergraduate art students demonstrating exceptional service to the art department during their stay at Oswego.

Joseph F. Shoenfelt Memorial Fund
This scholarship was established by Ann Shoenfelt Steinen in memory of her husband, Joseph F. Shoenfelt, a former faculty member of the art department. Students studying sculpture, sculptural works in clay, 3-D design and book arts will be considered for this award.

Established in 2010 by faculty, the award honors a promising freshman or sophomore.

This honors graphic design juniors who have demonstrated academic success as evidenced by a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and who show a commitment to the field of graphic design.

In recognition of an art major who has demonstrated meritorious academic achievement by earning the highest cumulative average upon completion of 86 semester hours, and 60 hours of residency.

This honor recognizes a student who demonstrates artistic promise as evidenced by a quality portfolio and exemplary academic performance.
- Abishek Thapa
Richard Zakin Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded to a selected art major with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
