Chanel Meyer, a senior dual major in Spanish adolescence education and in Spanish, has earned a prestigious Fulbright Student award to teach in Spain next year.
Meyer previously has studied abroad in both Spain and Ecuador. In each location, she additionally engaged in service learning, working as a teacher's assistant and a tutor. She has helped manage 21 international programs in nine countries as an assistant in the college’s Office of International Education and Programs.
In addition to appreciating all the opportunities she worked hard for, Meyer particularly thanked Joanne O’Toole of the curriculum and instruction department and Lizette Alvarado of the Office of International Education and Programs for their continuous guidance and support.
As a Fulbright finalist, Meyer is a candidate who has been offered a Fulbright U.S. Student grant, contingent upon host country approvals, medical clearance and submission of all required grant documents.
