Welcome students, from the faculty and staff of Penfield Library!

We have had to make a number of changes to library services this Fall 2020 semester. A full description of changes is available on our
Penfield Library COVID-19 Guide, but below is a summary of the most important points for you to be aware of:

The library will be offering study space, circulation services, and expert research help, in addition to the vast array of electronic resources (ebooks, media, and research databases) available through the library website.

In order to control the density in the building and maintain a clean and safe environment, the library will utilize a reservation system for three study periods per day, and will close for cleaning/disinfection twice per day.

Enter the building with your SUNY Oswego ID card, from the main entrance or the West (Lanigan) entrance.

As on the rest of campus, masks covering your nose and mouth are required.

The 24 Hour Room is open 24 hours. LakerNet printing stations are available there, as are a number of computers. Socially distanced seating is indicated.

Staffed library hours and circulation services:
  • Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: closed
  • Sunday: noon to 7 p.m.
You can talk with a librarian or staff member and check out books from the Check Out window during these hours.

Study reservation time periods:
  • 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • nooon to 3 p.m.
  • 4:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Additionally:
Our building partners, Office of Learning Services (OLS)Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)Lake Effect Cafe and SHOP food pantry, will all have services -- visit the appropriate webpages for information about their individual services and hours.

We look forward to working with you this semester!
