The college’s Fitness Centers aim to help keep the campus community in shape via a series of live outdoor classes that will offer wellness opportunities with appropriate precautions.

Courses offered include:

  • Outdoor Yoga, which welcomes all skills levels, with class styles varying from Vinyasa, Mobility, Restorative and Renewing Yoga; instructors will base each class on participant requests and skill levels to ensure a positive time that will relax your body and mind.
  • Outdoor Zumba, which fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program; routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt participants’ bodies while burning fat.
  • Outdoor Arms & Abs, aiming to sculpt the arms with targeted exercises for the triceps, shoulder, biceps and upper back; exercises will also focus on tapering and strengthening torsos.
  • Outdoor BGT (Butts, Guts and Thighs), designed to isolate hard-to-tone muscle groups, where participants will learn to use different equipment and their own body weight to strengthen and tone their cores and lower bodies.

All classes are free for students prior to the opening of the Fitness Centers, but have size limitations and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Zumba and Yoga have a capacity of 20 participants, while BGT and Arms & Abs classes have a capacity of 15 participants.

Masks are required when attending classes. Water bottles are highly recommended.

Interested participants can follow the Fitness Centers’ Instagram account (@oswegofit) for daily updates regarding weather cancellations.

The Fitness Centers management is reviewing guidelines for responsible reopening of indoor exercise facilities, hoping to come up with a plan to move forward.
