'Above and beyond' efforts of staff member earn Chancellor's Award

Alexandra "Alex" Sorbello, artist designer with SUNY Oswego's Office of Residence Life and Housing, has earned the 2019 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service, a State University of New York honor that recognizes her for "superior performance and extraordinary achievement."

The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service recently honored three SUNY Oswego employees for contributions that include leading forward-looking college digital services, managing nationally ranked master of business administration programs and spearheading operations for a vibrant culture of campus activities.

Employee Recognition Luncheon set for June 13

The 30th annual Employee Recognition Luncheon will be held noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom. 

Reservations can be made for $10 each from any of the Luncheon Committee members: Barbara Berry, Holly DeMar, Jeff Monette, Manuel Orta, Gerry Roy, Lori Reitmeier, Beth Hovey or Human Resources Department, 201 Culkin Hall. Reservations can be paid by cash or by check payable to SUNY Oswego.

College to observe Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 16

SUNY Oswego will honor the importance of access and inclusion in education as part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day on Thursday, May 16.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is intended “to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital (web, software, mobile, etc.) access/inclusion and people with different disabilities,” according to the international event’s website.

May 17 retirement reception to honor Holly Perfetti

College to participate in 2019 NSF’s STEM for All Video Showcase

Oswego and three other SUNY campuses (Cortland, Oneonta and Plattsburgh) will be featured in the online 2019 STEM for All Video Showcase, running through May 20 and funded by the National Science Foundation. 

GENIUS Olympiad seeks judges for June event

GENIUS Olympiad organizers are seeking judges for the annual international summer competition hosted by SUNY Oswego in a variety of categories. Judges can learn more and apply via the event website.

Parking passes (for students and employees) available online

May 10, 2019

With another academic year at SUNY Oswego starting in days, 2019-20 parking permits are still available online by visiting Oswego's parking website, and clicking on the Parking Portal tab. In addition, the Parking Office on Route 104 just east of the college's main entrance will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 24 and 25).

Summer hours for classified service employees to begin May 20

Summer office hours for classified service (CSEA) office employees will be go into effect on Monday, May 20, 2019. The summer hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a half-hour lunch break. Summer hours will remain in effect through Friday, Aug. 16, 2019. Employees should resume regular hours as of Monday, Aug. 19, 2019.

Library expands its hours for finals week

In a direct response to our students' request, Penfield Library has expanded its hours as members of the campus community prepare for finals week.

The library will be operating under the following hours for the remainder of the semester.
