Jordan Poyer, an All-Pro safety for the NFL's Buffalo Bills, will talk about tackling a tough off-field opponent -- alcoholism -- during an in-person discussion titled "My Rock Bottom" at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall in Marano Campus Center.

On the field, Poyer has found success as a professional and previously as an All-American playing for Oregon State University. But in November 2021, Poyer opened up about his recovery from alcoholism, the impact it has had on his mental health and his playing career in a groundbreaking article for the Players' Tribune. Now Poyer travels to share his inspirational journey to recovery, including with SUNY Oswego's campus and community.

Tickets are free -- available via tickets.oswego.edu -- and required for entry.  Tickets for students, faculty and staff are available. Tickets go on sale to members of the public on Friday, Aug. 26.

Doors open for the talk at 6:30 p.m.
