On Nov. 15, National Philanthropy Day, SUNY Oswego celebrates the 6,000 donors whose gifts supported more than 280 different funds last year alone. Around campus, you will notice a variety of tags that denote spaces, programs, equipment or even people who have been supported by our generous donors. The hope is that these visuals will serve as a reminder of the important role philanthropy plays in everyday activities on this campus.
Members of the Future Alumni Network (FANs) will host a table in the Marano Campus Center with a variety of interactive activities and giveaways from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 15.
You are encouraged to participate in a Tag Day Scavenger Hunt. Additionally, if you see a tag, you can snap a selfie, post on social media with #OzTagDay and follow @SUNYOswegoFans to be entered to win Laker Dining Dollars.
On this day, the college community also recognizes the thousands of volunteers who serve as mentors through the Oswego Alumni Association’s Alumni Sharing Knowledge program, guest speakers through the Alumni-In-Residence program, Local Lakers ambassadors who help plan alumni events around the country and Reunion Engagement and Planning Committee volunteers, and members of our various boards, among other volunteer roles.
