SUNY Oswego student artists will open an exhibition titled “Fantastic Architectures” with a free public reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Oswego State Downtown.
The exhibition will run through March 6 at the branch of Tyler Art Gallery and the College Store, corner of West First and Bridge streets in Oswego.
Artists and designers use various elements to create compositions of diverse subject matter, said Amy Bartell, assistant director of Tyler Art Gallery. For this project in foundation design, students created mixed-media drawings that experimented with line, shape, value, color, texture and scale. A primary focus was on creating the illusion of 3-D forms and the development of space, she said.
Students with work in the exhibition include Fergie Baliclic, Brandon Barnes, Stacy Baum, Nicole Baxter, Brendell Caines, Emily Clarke, Gabrielle Darling, Tommy Garland, Glenn Ivers, Dawoon (Daisy) Ko, Vanessa Minges, Maggie Murphy, Caroline Sardella, Sarah Steinbrenner, Lindsey Ubeda and Claire Wajda.
Exhibition hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
