The Sustainability Office sponsored the Clozet sale in Hewitt ballroom Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, making 1,800 pounds of donated goods available for bargain prices. The sale raised around $1,600 to support the purchase of trees to plant on this year’s Arbor Day, April 24. The 66 new incoming students for this semester bring the total to 254 international students attending Oswego.

Events like the Spring Student Involvement Fair on Jan. 27 give students a chance to check out long-established organizations as well as newer clubs like the Digital Music Association. Working with a field that is attracting an increase in student interest, the group focuses on providing an outlet to musically creative minds for all variety of musical genres. Oswego Laker sophomore forward Sara Cruise (#27) rockets the puck high past Potsdam's goalie in second-period action for the Lakers’ second score of the annual Pink the Rink game, which ended in a 3-3 tie on Feb. 1. The game raises awareness of and funds to combat breast cancer. Both teams skated away from the weekend tied for second place in their conference, with the Lakers (6-4-4 in conference, 9-6-4 overall( hosting a big NEWHL showdown with Morrisville tonight (Feb. 5).

Men's hockey forwards senior Michael Gillespie (#16) and sophomore Travis Broughman (#28) pressure Canton's defense during first period action Jan. 25 in Marano Campus Center. Gillespie and Broughman each went on to contribute goals in the second period which led to the Laker's ultimate 8-2 win over the Roos in front of new and returning students their first weekend back to campus. The men’s hockey team (8-2 in conference, 11-8 overall) prepares for a huge conference matchup against Geneseo at home, with both teams vying for first place in the SUNY Athletic Conference.
