Graduating seniors gather May 13 for the morning Commencement ceremonies for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall. Three ceremonies saw hundreds of students graduate in front of thousands of happy family members, friends and other guests.

Gabriel Almanzar ’05, creative director for CBS News, delivered the keynote address at the 2023 Commencement Eve Torchlight Ceremony on May 12. The Torchlight Ceremony is one of Oswego’s long-standing traditions in which university leadership and other alumni pass the flame from the Torch of Learning to members of the graduating class, while welcoming these newest members of the Oswego Alumni Association. Almanzar earned a bachelor of fine arts in graphic arts with a minor in Spanish from SUNY Oswego, and he currently serves on the School of Communication, Media and the Arts Advisory Board.
