SUNY Oswego held its December Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, with two in-person Commencement ceremonies in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall -- one for December 2021 graduates, and a separate ceremony to allow members of the class of 2020 to take the stage for an in-person celebration. Jeff Knauss –- a 2007 graduate, serial entrepreneur, angel investor and co-founder of the award-winning Digital Hyve agency –- received a SUNY Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters for his service to the institution, the business world and society in general, during the 9:30 a.m. commencement ceremony Dec. 11, where he served as commencement speaker for a special ceremony honoring the 2020 graduating class. Mark Baum –- a 1981 graduate and chief collaboration and commercial officer for the Food Marketing Institute who serves as a director on the Oswego College Foundation, Inc. and chairs its Development Committee –- received a SUNY Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters for his service to the institution, the business world and society in general, during the 12:30 p.m. commencement ceremony Dec. 11, during which he served as commencement speaker for the December 2021 graduates. Whiteout Weekend returned to campus in spectacular fashion as Oswego Lakers men's hockey swept visiting Potsdam on Jan. 21 and archrivals Plattsburgh on Jan.22. Oswego blanked Potsdam 3-0 before besting Plattsburgh 5-2. The ever-popular Mini Zamboni provided entertainment along with launching T-shirts into the crowd between periods in the men's hockey whiteout game with Plattsburgh on Jan. 22. The scale replica is a creation by students in the Technology Education Department.
