Walking past the campus sculpture garden Oct. 8 during an admissions open house, student tour guide and zoology major Maddy Kaleta leads prospective students and parents from Penfield Library to Hart Hall Global Living and Learning Center. The day offered presentations from the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Residence Life and Housing and others; an information fair with college offices, student organizations and faculty across majors; opportunities for visitors to visit dining halls and classes; bus tours; and more.

Students, faculty and staff -- as well as alumni who were on campus for Homecoming and the Return to Oz reunion -- turn out in force Oct. 12 at Marano Campus Center arena to support the annual Green and Gold Day photo, which was among many taken that day around the world to share Oswego’s school spirit.

Howard Gordon, class of 1974, master's '78 and recently retired as executive assistant to college President Deborah F. Stanley, acknowledges a lifetime appreciation award and gift from the Return to Oz Reunion committee on Oct. 13 during the Return to Oz Celebration Dinner in Hewitt ballroom. Among many other accomplishments, Gordon co-founded the ALANA (African, Latino, Asian, Native American) Student Leadership Conference.

Return to Oz draws scores of alumni of color and guests to campus Oct. 12 to 14. The reunion, which takes place every five years, included a Friday evening get-together, a Saturday “Ease on Down the Road” alumni-student networking fair, EOP Alumni Reception and the Return to Oz Celebration Dinner (pictured), among other events.

Attending the Oct. 5 inauguration of Jerald Woolfolk (seated at center) as president of Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, is a contingent of current and former SUNY Oswego employees and alumni, led by Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley (front, to Woolfolk’s right). Woolfolk formerly served as vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Oswego.

Four main characters appear to enjoy each other’s company in a lighter moment from SUNY Oswego’s upcoming presentation of “The Shape of Things,” the Neil LaBute play that runs Nov. 7 to 11 under the direction of theatre faculty member Mya Brown. The play has captivated audiences since its 2001 debut in London; the theatre department’s production promises a searing meditation on art, culture and influence. A premier event annually on the college calendar takes place today -- the Dr. Lewis B. O’Donnell Media Summit, broadcast live at 3 p.m. from Waterman Theatre by student-run WTOP-TV. A daylong series of events hosted by the college’s School of Communication, Media and the Arts, the summit welcomes media professionals to campus for engaging conversations about timely and important topics facing media industries and consumers, as well as networking opportunities with alumni Career Connectors at 4:30 p.m. in Tyler Hall lobby.
