Looking back, working on [my startup company] Shea Élysée ... I would’ve been scared of anything having to do with finances ... But now, I can approach things a lot more calmly in several areas because of the assurance I’ve gotten from studying and assignments I’ve done.
I was recently accepted to a co-op in Boston with Biogen in their Internal Audit Department. I have to credit Oswego for giving me this experience. Through learning about the opportunity to practicing my interviewing skills, Oswego is the reason I'm going to have this amazing opportunity.
The best part of this major is Meet the Accountants night. Dozens of accounting firms came right to campus to meet with students and discuss internship and full-time opportunities. Each interview that I have had since has been on campus and very convenient.
I learned not only from school work, but also from extra-curricular activities such as Running Club, Chinese Club, Investment Club, and Accounting Society. These activities helped me developing my leadership skills and determination.
I had the pleasure of working very closely with a few accounting professors throughout my college career. Of course they were always there to help me with my assignments and projects.
