Participate in Baseline Testing Before the Start of Classes
The fall semester start is drawing near and we are so excited to have you back on campus. In order to help you plan and ensure you are in compliance with all the testing and vaccination requirements, we are providing again the following information and guidance.
Participate in Baseline Testing Before the Start of Classes
- All students (vaccinated and unvaccinated) must participate in baseline COVID testing prior to the start of classes on Monday, Aug. 23. Testing appointments for off-campus students can be made through the SUNY Oswego box office at tickets.oswego.edu. The Syracuse Campus will host baseline testing for all students, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, today (Wednesday, Aug. 18) from 2 to 6 pm in Room 129. Testing appointments are not required at the Syracuse campus.
- Please remember that in order to participate in campus testing you must first register your profile with the SUNY Upstate Medical portal before coming to the testing center: (https://app.clarifi-covid-19.com/).
Will the College Accept an External PCR Test for Baseline Testing?
- If a student is unable to baseline test through the campus testing center, a negative PCR COVID-19 test will be accepted. Any external COVID test needs to be collected and resulted within 72 hours of arrival to campus. An antigen or at-home test will not be accepted.
- Students should upload their negative test result into the Medicat patient portal (https://oswego.medicatconnect.com/) or email it to whealth@oswego.edu by 4 pm on Sunday, Aug. 22. All costs that occur from outside COVID-19 testing will be the student’s responsibility.
If you Tested Positive for COVID-19 in the Past 90 Days, do you Need to Test?
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days, you are exempt from surveillance testing for 3 months (90 days) from the date you tested positive. Please submit the following to Health Services:
- Your positive test result OR
- Your isolation release from your local Health Department
Get Vaccinated and Submit Your Proof of Vaccination
- SUNY Oswego is providing the COVID vaccine to all students and employees right here on campus at our Vaccination Center in Swetman Gymnasium. Visit our on-campus Vaccination Center website to view dates, times and type of vaccines being offered to all students and employees. Register and get your first dose by 9/3/21 so you can be in compliance with the college’s Sept. 24 deadline (for all residence hall students).
- If you are already vaccinated, please submit your COVID vaccine record within the Medicat patient portal (https://oswego.medicatconnect.com/). Instructions on how to submit your records are provided at this link on the Oswego Forward website.
Please remember to check the Oswego Forward website regularly for updates and pertinent communication. The newly developed FAQ section is also a helpful resource. If you have any questions, please direct them to whealth@oswego.edu or call Health Services at 315-312-4100.
Sincerely,
