Moving Out of Your Residence Hall
Dear Residential Student,
I hope you and your families, friends and loved ones are safe and well, and that you are successfully navigating through the final weeks of the spring 2020 semester. We miss you and are thinking of you each and every day. We are also planning for students to return to campus May 8 - May 18 to move out of their residence halls. We will comply with local, state, and federal public health laws and directives, and are focused on limiting the amount of human density in buildings and on the Oswego campus.
You have the opportunity to return to campus at a time and date that works best for you. Please complete the move out form no later than Thursday, May 7 by noon.
As you plan your return to campus to retrieve your belongings, please be aware of the following:
- Students should remove ALL of their belongings at this time.
- There will be very limited, controlled access to the residence halls during this time. You need to maintain appropriate social distancing and protect those who remain in residence.
- Students will need to wear a mask at all times.
- Only students will be allowed into their residence hall for a short period of time and will NOT be allowed to remain in their rooms for any reason.
- Students who have lost their room/mailbox keys or who have failed to turn in their keys during the checkout process will be billed for a lost key/fob. Key envelopes with your name and room number will be slid under your door prior to your check out time. Please put all keys in the envelope and place the sealed envelope in the key drop-off located near the front desk or mailboxes.
- Students should check their mailboxes before they leave the building. All packages will be forwarded after May 18th.
If you are sick or have been in contact with anyone experiencing any symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), PLEASE DO NOT come to campus at this time. We will work with you to create a plan to get your belongings to you. Additional information about refunds and how and when they will be distributed to students will be shared later this week or early next week.
We are all in this #TogetherOz. These are difficult and challenging times and our priority is your safety and the safety of others in our community. If you have any questions, please email reslife@oswego.edu or call our office at 315.312.2246.
Warmest Regards,
